We from Latrobe, Pa. Went to Altoona Thursday am.To see the Big Boy. The organization of that event was amazing.Everything. it was FREE. you picked up a bus at Curve baseball stadium. Rode to Rose Yard saw Big Boy. And other trains, First Responders train.NS executive train. Watched a movie. So much to see long lines for free stuff. Free water, cool down tent, tent to get out the sun, no rain. Bus drivers, police, traffic controllers ,etc first rate. Today we saw Big Boy run thru east of Derry Pa. About 12 ft from track at speed. So we decided to go for lunch about 2 pm.Going thru Latrobe I yell hey there is a yellow passenger car,the Big Boy is at Latrobe Station. Yep.it stopped was unscheduled. There for about 45 minutes. Got pics of it pulling out. There were 5 heritage diesels behind it plus the passenger cars. The diesels did not seem to rev up or have smoke coming out of exhaust just idling.Big Boy pulled out like it was nothing. We sure got our fill of seeing once in a lifetime event.ALCO had a large plant, shuttered now,in Latrobe.they made springs, and tires for steam locos, also heard they forged the side rods for the Big Boy there.i have pics from the office there of 4 steam engines they built, not Big Boy.i remember as a kid at night the steam hammer pounding away, trying to sleep.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
