Default What a day

I've been wanting to adjust the valves on the 1512 I recently picked up, well I was forced to today. It ran great Friday, I noticed yesterday it became really sluggish on acceleration and the idle was different. I ran through the obvious, clean water free fuel check new air filter check, cracked injector lines, we have fuel. To my surprise when I pulled the valve cover and see a pushrod standing outside the rocker arm. I checked it for straightneess and it was fine, found the tappet in one corner of the head which made me feel lucky. After a little more examination I noticed two of the three rocker arm hold down nuts extremely loose, tightened those down, ran through the valves and I'm happy to report, all is well and it may even run slightly better. So what a day it has been hahaha

I agree, but it was probably a good thing as the valves are now adjusted. I guess there are a few ways to break procrastination hahaha

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
