If anyone has a grille insert in good shape for a 1440, 1641, 1864 or similar tractor, part #731-3099 I would be interested in purchasing it.
![]() I had a rather unfortunate situation happen yesterday while mowing with my restored 1864 when the grille insert fell out of the housing. Needless to say, I ran over it, cutting it up into pieces! ![]() Funny, I have been cutting grass with the 1864 for over 5 years and never had it fall out before. If I can find another one, I'm going to put a safety cord on it so that I will never run over it ever again if it pops out! Send a PM if you have one you would be willing to part with. Thanks all!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
