Hey Guys,
I'm currently working an 1864 I got recently. I was super excited when it started up easy but then realized the steering box was leaking everywhere and didn't work. Then while rebuilding the steering box, I realized that rear end had two broken bolts where it attaches on the axle housing. My question now is what bolts I should put back in (oem or higher grade?), if they need to be torqued higher than the factory, and if I need to replace all of the seals or just use rtv. I don't know if I will keep the tractor, but I'm assuming that if I do the Xtreme brace will probably be worth it. Emerson |

Thanks for the reply, Are there any other seals you would recommend replacing while I have the transmission apart?

I think there are 6 or 7 shaft seals. I would replace all of those. You have to split the case the replace one of them. There is a cork gasket between the hydro and rear case. There should be several threads showing this.
The rear cover has a gasket and I use a small smear of RTV on it.
