I can tell you TSC and our local Fastenal do not have them. McMaster is the best place to get them. You can get a package of 25 shipped to your door for about what it costs to buy a couple at a cub dealer.

What size would i order from McMaster Carr and roughly what did it cost for 25? I have a 127 cub I'm working on mainly drive shaft also a 72 cub. The drive end that attaches to the engine on the is welded solid is that OK or should the whole drive shaft be replaced?

Measure what you have and match it up to their catalog. They are standard sizes and light duty, regular, and HD. I assume the Cubs are regular.

Look up Jeff in PA,our sponsor above, for new drivesahft and hub and he'll include the proper solid pin for the driveshaft which you'll need to insert after installing the cooling fan blade on the shaft. At the other end of driveshaft past the rag joint connection, there is a .250" x 1.75" heavy duty spirol pin which you can get from McMaster or sometimes fleabay.

Try searching for "coiled spring pin".

From my searching it looks like Grainger has them pretty reasonably priced when I get over there I plan on stopping in to see.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
