When you take pictures, tilt your phone to the left (home button in your right hand), and they should post right side up. At least, that works for me.

I got a couple of my Cubs out and running last weekend. I’m thinking by next weekend I’ll probably be able to do the first mowing of the year. It’s starting to grow, but not quite enough to cut yet. If it doesn’t rain, I may get my 1440 and bagger out this weekend and pick up the leaves left over from last year.

As far as maintenance goes, I just change the oil if needed, grease everything up, sharpen blades, and check the air in the tires.

I like to change the air in all my tires.
Fresh air gives a smoother ride and reduces tire wear.

Be careful to only use fresh SPRING air... You don't want accidental FALL air; its much harder on your backside.

I always put Helium in my tires in the spring, as it allows the tractor to float over the lawn like a hummingbird.
I'm careful not to add too much as I'm not wanting to get too "high" as the deck will not mow at the desired setting.

PLUS....you can inhale the helium when you drain it in the fall,
so you can talk like a cartoon character and amuse your wife.

I typically fill my tires with laughing gas. That way if I start finding the grass funny, I know one is leaking. Also if I fall off the mower onto my face, I can perform my own dental work.

She always said I was "quite the character" till the day she died.
I didn't pay her any heed then, or now, when I hear "those voices" in my head.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
