Okay ,Matt you are right there are 2 different sized S/G
I have found a cw s/g Easton ct.how do you flip it ?

Technically, you can not put the shaft through from the other side... There are no brushes/holders on the other end and the shoes would not line up with the armature.

I am pretty sure you can wire a negative ground tractor, positive ground and everything will function correctly except!! the voltage regulator will be fried near instantaniously. Seen this happen on large tractors a few times. Starters spin correctly ignition functions, doesn't charge.

The direction can be changed,i have had it done,if fact the starter on my 123 is from a sears suburban.I did not do the work,but the guy who did changed the direction,and rebuilt it for about $60.The cubs are a bit odd,because most of the time it is normal to have the s/g on the flywheel side,but because when IH put the gear reduction on the Cub transmission they had to put the engine in backwards.
