Default I'm needing a new set of tires for the 2072

I found new Carlisle Versa Turf tires on CL priced at $100 each. I would prefer Tru Powers of better yet, 23* Firestones but it looks like the cheapest I could find the Tru Powers is $275 shipped for 2. Has anyone used the Versa Turfs yet? This is for a 2072 mainly used for plowing and cat 0 tiller use.

Here is the CL link.

Is this snow plowing or in the dirt? I'm only curious why you want to move away from turf tires.

It will be for dirt work. We do not get enough of the white stuff, in the south, to blow or plow. lol

The Versa Turfs our Ok for Turf and Snow. Not the greatest In Mud, found that Kenda Terra Trac which is the JD HDAP style tire handle Dirt and Mud Better. They're a Better all around tires then the Versa Turfs, I also find they're Great for Mowing I have Used the Kenda Terra Trac https://www.millertire.com/23x10-50-...ac-4-ply-tire/ for about 2 years On My Cub Cadet XT3 GSX and Have Used them for 8 years On My JD X748 and 5 years On My JD GX335

You Can get 23X 10.50 Tru Powers shipped for $245.62 from Amazon, about $10.00 more than I paid In the fall for them On My Cub 1450 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...0?ie=UTF8&th=1

Amazons Price for 26X for two were about $369.00 from Amazon for My 2182. They were Lower In cost then Miller Tire

Steve, the 2072 I have has a set of mismatched turf tires and one of them is cracked and leaking. I could do a tube but found these tires on CL.

Greg, yep not much if any snow here in the south.

Sergeant, I can order Tru Powers from Amazon for around $275 shipped but that's $75 more than these are. Miller Tire isn't an option if you're not local or picking up at a show + their price on the Tru Powers are about $35 more per tire.

WOW, I just filled out a test order for Miller Tire to see how much they charge for shipping. Their price to ship 2 tires is $219.

Matt G on another forum posted this + these are 8 ply also.

Boy, that's a deal although I said I would never do 8 ply tires again after I destroyed 1 rim trying to get a set of 23* 8 ply Firestones on my 982.

Should I do the Versa Turfs for $200 or the 8 ply Tru Powers for $73 more?

I put the Carlisle Tru-Power lugs on my 149 after trying to use the FEL with turfs. This tractor does not mow, it's all dirt work. Loader, discing, tilling plowing and the like. Fluid filled and lots of weight on the tires and rear, they have great ground contact and traction. I doubt they're worth a hoot on slippery snow or ice though. Too hard.

FWIW, I've been looking at these options for for some JD 12" wheels that give 3+ increase in width over the Cub rims.

Don't know why the first two links in the previous post are broke but the tires are there.

If you like the Ag tread then these look good, deep tread 22/32" and nearly 2,000 pounds per tire load rating. That will be important for when you add a backhoe.

Look into the 20% off also, it may apply idk

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
