Default Hydro Relief Valve - struggling to remove

Hi all,

I have a 1450 Cub Cadet. I've noticed transmission oil leaking and found that it was coming from the hydro relief valve. I'm looking to replace this valve but I need to remove it. I'm really struggling to remove this. I've been trying to turn the valve counter clockwise with a wrench but it does not want to budge at all. Any ideas or suggestions?

Pitch that farmer wrench, good way to really skin some knuckles, and use the correct size 1" box end wrench or socket and breaker bar so you can get some decent leverage.

Make sure the area surrounding the valve is spotlessly clean using carb or brake cleaner and blow dry w/air. You may even need to use a small wire brush in the process as well. You DO NOT want crap falling back inside the housing while removing the valves.

You may have rap the end of the wrench with a hammer a bit while applying some pressure.

Exactly what he said. I had the same issue, just a good wrench, and a good wrap from a hammer

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
