Yeah the trailer is on its last legs. We lost some parts this trip. It’s brought home a lot of Cubs and I’m looking for another trailer. The tie down job is solid, I have a wench on the front and it’s bolted to steel. So I hook the front to the cable and it ain’t going anywhere, and draw the back tight with a ratchet strap.

George, I knew someone would take the bait of my mispelling of "winch".
![]() I'm looking at the QA42A to adjust it for the Narrow Frame, I see how all that works, but I don't understand the upper lift arms. The upper pin that goes through the mounting brackets on the snow thrower side is welded in there and the uppers traps pin on the outsides. It seems to me like that shouldn't be welded so you can pull it out and put those upper straps on the inside for the narrow frame. I've not pulled down any information on how to adjust it yet, but I just glanced at it and I see a potential problem here, or are there different upper arms for the narrow frame? If so that seems counter to being "adjustable" if I have to source different upper straps. I can take a picture of what I mean if my description isn't making much sense.

According to the book a QA36A or 42A is designed to operate on a tractor with a serial number of 400,001 or higher. It can be used with a tractor with a lower serial number with an adapter package. A 125 certainly has a number lower than 400,001. I have never seen what that package contains.

Interesting, I wonder what the adapter package is? It looks like it'll hook right up, my only concern is with those top straps. I have 285365.
This looks applicable... https://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/...ead.php?t=2311

From a member on a different forum:
By the way, the "Adapter Package" is listed in the CPE-2 Parts Catalog, but it's specified for tractors Serial no. 65,458-400,000 and the contents are basically a lift rod and bracket to bolt to the manual lift arm

Ok thanks. That makes sense. I don’t have a bracket on the lift handle like I had on my 122. I just sold the 122 yesterday and I wish I would have kept that. I have a few lift rods around here of different lengths.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
