The solenoid went bad while plowing. I don't know if it got wet or if it was just its time. The headlights work but it doesn't crank (or run). It cranks when I jump from the battery to the starter.
Rats! Seems like things don't break when you don't need them...but with snow building and the temps falling, the solenoid takes the night off. Looks like I'm going to have to do it the old fashioned way -- with muscle! ![]() ![]()

Just because the sol no workie, possibly it ain't getting no power no how yall.
Try a jumper wire from the Batt-tree and you just might get lucky and it works like it always did. So go wire chasing, prolly a loose connection or possible corrosion under the mounting screws so there is no ground for the solenoid would be another thing to check. KISS--- Keep it stupid simple.

Unless this was updated there is no starter solenoid on a 100, are you talking about the voltage regulator?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
