Default lift handle trouble

it seems that over the years the lift handle has on my 123 has bent a little. it was like that before i had gotten it. last night i finally went ahead and bent it back. but now the release button gets jammed down. binding up somewhere. i figure that the inner rod inside didnt bend back as well as the main outer rod. any pointers on takin it apart and gettin that inner rod out to bend it straight?

Depending how you bent it back, I'd go a bit farther in the other direction and then back to straight again. That way you get the inner rod bent a bit more ...know what I mean? I did this on my CCO when I straightened the lift handle on that and is what I ended up doing to get the inner rod to work good...

Unscrew the button on top and pull the (inner) rod out the botom, straighten it then put it back.

To get the inner out you will either have to lift the front of the tractor very high or unbolt the handle assy. from the tractor frame.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
