I purchased a reasonably good carb for about $50. The ball is not attached to the throttle link. I have to attach the ball to get this running. Anyone tell me how to do that. I rebuilt a cub 100. I basically rebuilt everything but the brakes. Motor clutch electrical everything.
Thanks Doug |

You have two choices. You can replace the throttle valve from the new carb with the old valve from the original or you can buy a replacement "ball" from Dorman's to the tune of about $7. Be sure the screw on the ball will go through the hole on the throttle and be sure the screw won't drag on the air fuel mixture screw. (You can shim the screw up out of the way with small washers if need be.) For the next poor guys who believe the pics, they show the ball on top of the throttle linkage and guarantee a replace and go hook up. Also, if I don't miss my guess, you'll play heck getting this carb set without it having to have a new float valve and bowl gasket replacement. This has happened to me twice. Still beats paying the price for OEM replacement (assuming you don't break up too much during the ensuing temper tantrums!!) Good Luck. CB

Put that CHI-NAAAA carb back in the box,and write on it "new/unused mistake".
then clean your original carb, and reinstall it on your engine. You and you engine will thank you every time you use it. ![]() ![]() Some CHI-NAAAA carbs work, some not, but the carter on your kohler, is one fine little carb. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
