Live in TN moved from NY just across the PA line- Have a 127 Cub Cadet -no deck just tiller and have tried to replace the belt 9 times now and can't seem to locate the correct one- Anyone out there with more knowledge than I would be greatly appreciated. It has 4 pulleys- one front 2 under front and one in rear- Tried a 1/2" x 145 belt- it went on with no resistance- it allowed the tractor to go forward and reverse but was not strong enough to turn the PTO and make the tiller turned like it use to. Have called Cub Cadet called MTD have spent about 6 hours total holding for help only to get someone with no clue or get put back on hold. I am at my wits end. Also not totally sure how to do some of the things on this post but I will try. Thanks in advance for any help

Hi.. and welcome.. From what I understand. Your belt is too short. The thing that is throwing me is that you say it allowed your tractor to move forward and reverse.... The belt does not drive the tractor. Its shaft driven
Also. your PTO is mechanical..

The tiller belt adjusts the same as a mower drive belt would.
Download the manuals for your machines in the tech section. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
