Default Need help with numbers

I recently purchased what I was told a 100. Can someone tell me or point me in the right direction to find out dates of manufacture and number manufactured from these hard-to-read numbers. Along right side of tractor in front of differential... IH 890988. On left side of engine near carb K241AS then last digits73328. Then spec number last digits 46310C. Thanks, Carpetbagger

The model 100 was made between 08/1963 to 08/65. The Serial Number range was 65459 to 127160. The number was stamped into the Rear End casting at the locations as seen in the attached pictures.

It had a Kohler K241S motor. The Spec Number would be 46310C.

I have no clue what these numbers mean....

Default Thanks, Roland

Were the stamped numbers entered upside down as in your picture? Maybe that's the reason I had such difficulty reading the numbers. The 73328 number could be the serial number as it was stamped on the tag with the K241as number and the spec number was exact so now I've got a range and it is definitely a 100. Much appreciation for your prompt reply.

Again, the Cub Cadet serial number is stamped into the Rear End housing casting, on the RH side, as seen in the pictures.

Are you looking at the RAISED CASTING numbers?
If so, disregard them, you are looking for smaller STAMPED IN numbers on the rear end casting.
much like the identification numbers on a bicycle frame, motorcycle or car/truck motor.

Default Thanks, Ol' George

That is exactly what I was doing. Thanks for setting me straight. I'll have to go back out in this cold weather with a pen that doesn't work in the cold and write my new number down (maybe write it in snot!) Carpetbagger

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
