Default 169 not charging

My 169 is not charging. Voltage at battery when running is 12.5v. Steps I have taken to diag include. Voltage at regulator “Gen” terminal is 13.5v. Grounded”F” terminal and that maxed out amp gauge. Cleaned battery terminals and tested voltage drops at terminals while tractor running, all OK. I believe I need a new. Voltage regulator but just want 2nd opinions. As a side note the starter solenoid often clicks and tractor won’t turn over. Multiple key turns gets it going. When it just clicks I have battery voltage at solenoid and no volts coming out. So pretty sure that’s a bad/dirty solenoid. Thanks for your help/thoughts.

Make sure both Battery Cables on both ends, are clean, bright, and tight.

Sounds like you have two issues.

(A) Check the Charging System. See link..... Chg System

(B) Replace the Starter Solenoid.

I read posts and links like this one you have put here Roland and I say
to myself, that is very relevant infomation that I am going to need someday. I
know all this info is on this site but cant always find things I want to read.
Not being much of a computer guy am wondering if there is a tutorial
or something here that I am missing that would help me organize the
articles I want to save and find the info am interested in finding. Thanks
so much, the advice and such on here is invaluable. I so appreciate all
the effort you folks put into it.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
