I don't believe anyone makes a kit to reupholster that style seat. I had one done at Dons auto upholstery shop about 10yrs ago that turned out really nice. If I remember it was almost $100 to have it done. Too bad the fiberglass base of the seat split about 2yrs ago.

When I finally build a 124 my plan is to replace the box under the seat with springs from a newer Cub and then use a regular seat. If you've never had a Cub with a solid mounted seat I can tell you it's a pain (literally) to use it for a long period of time. I had a 122 I restored and it would beat the crap out of me while mowing, I sold it and started using the 108 and it was much better.

I always liked the rubber seats on the cubs around that era. Not that it is a whole lot more comfortable, if any, but I like the looks of them and the durability. Still, if you are planning on using it for prolonged periods of time, then you will probably want one with a backrest on it.

I saw that one... pretty pricey. I'd rather try redoing mine
I dont see the blue piping around that one either. Makes me think it was redone once

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
