Thought some maybe interested, I'm starting on project #2 seeing the 1110 is finished (I'll get pictures up soon) This is a 1610 hydro with 16 horse briggs. The tractor seemed to run pretty good dispite alot of oil leaks. The hydro was strong from what I could tell the little I drove it around before I started to tear it apart.
This may not sit well with some, but I've always wanted an International lawn tractor around, seeing every tractor on the farm except for the compact is IH. So I'm going to build one using the 1610. ![]() My plan is to paint everything yellow IH red, and go through it front to back, and top to bottom. It's going to take me some time, but what else is there to do at night, and weekends?:biggrin2.gif: I've got almost everything stripped off, so I can begin sandblasting, but I've got two more of those ![]() So there it is, my next project is under way ![]() |

Got some more done today. Finally got the rear tires off (thanks tinkerman) got the dash out of the way and the hydro is gone for now. Getting ready for sandblasting maybe on the weekend. But hunting looks to be higher on the list right now.
We'll see. |

If it comes out as nice as your 1110 project, it will be awesome.
I think this is the first time I've seen the bare frame of one of these lawn tractors - it looks beefy enough. |

Looking good so far! Your very welcome. I just tore some new tires and rims off of a stupid toro wanna be wheel horse. LOL. No bolts, the ole cotter pin. No holes in the rim for a puller. Took me three hours and a can of PB and half a can of propane for heat and my huge mall(heavier then the usual and a broken handle makes it a gigantic hammer wich I call the persuader) to get one rim off. I guess my persuader is not as much of a persuader this time as I had hoped! Killed my back for the day! Trying to save the rims for a friend to put some older tread on for him while I throw the new rubber on my rims and take the chains off for my rims as well. What a PINR!! I got that toro to steel the 16 HP briggs out of for my tractor. Runs like a champ and when I used it for mowing, there was no such thing as slowing down or bogging in deep grass or on the hill! Seen a great 70's GT yesterday. Sure wish I knew how much and wish even more I could afford it! Until then, Ill tinker on these LTs! I am sure this one will look great too!

Just wanted something (odd) we have IH on the farm and the color was always my favorite. We had a farmal super c, w-9, farmal m and super m and still have the IH 856 and 1086 so I guess to answer your question, just seems like the thing to do!
And I always wanted an IH red lawn tractor, I know it's not the same as a (real) one, but it will be fine for me. And it's not like it's a big collector tractor or anything, so why not? ![]() |

LOL. Cool! I hope as I have to time to get to the 805 and rebuild it and paint it(with a different chassis with only one pedal and locking brake) that I can paint it in a bright and vibrant yellow and white, not neccesarily cub colors. Alo hope to add flames to it and a side pipe! Either that or a zoomie style. LOL. Because we live in a neighborhood though, it will have to have a muffler on it even if its one of those crap can styles!

Zippy, You say you have a 1086
I've been thinking finding a cub, and making it look like a 1086. I've got one also, and Love it. I think if I get to it, I'm going to redo the whole thing, So it looks just like the 1086, But with turf tires, and smaller, I defenetly want the do the cab though, Are you on my tractor fourm. If so, Do you have a thread of your 1086... I love meeting people who have them. I just love mine. Thanks Cody |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
