I think that is also the lifting lug for the engine, goes on top, through onr of the head bolts on the forward coil side of the engine.

They are correct, it is the engine bracket. I have the one you need somewhere but I can't find it. Perhaps someone else can measure one. Sorry.

hats off to you sawdustdad......camaraderie is a virtue
that a forum such as this truly needs and holds it as an
example for others to embrace and admire , not a big
amount of monetary savings to the OP but a gesture I'm
sure that will last as long as a well maintained cub .

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester.
