Couple of Pick Up's

Been awhile since I have had any Cubs in the shop,got to missing them.So after picking up a Haban blade I went looking for a Super to hang it on.I almost passed on this very tired 2082 but the price was way too good so into the truck it went.The 2082 was engine-less so had to find a donor and this is what I think is a 1862 came along.I just put a little two cycle fuel down the engine and she ran till it was gone sounded pretty good so hope I can make something work.Should be a good winter project for me they each came with a deck and mule drive but nothing to write home about.Took a few quick pictures to prove it really happened .

Ah, you got the leaders heights one. I had been thinking about it but decided to pass. I have enough Cub carcasses at my compound right now. He lowered the price to $100 from $300 when I had first seen it. I thought it was an 1862 but someone changed the listing I posted in the Craigslist to 1541.

You know,it very well could be a 1541 I will check the serial number.I may be wrong but I thought the only difference from the M18 was the carb they used to limit the HP.

Check the spec # on the engine or pull a head. The lower HP twin engines used dished pistons and low compression heads (combustion chamber machined out over the piston). Same bore/stroke as a M18.

Looks like the PO ran the tires off of that 2082.

Thanks for the engine info,I stand corrected.I did take a quick look at the tractor and it does have an M18.

Well I have been picking away at the old 2082 ,first pulled the Mag 18 from the donor tractor.I went ahead and tried to save myself some headaches ,pulled the tins and starter when it was out.Cleaned out the mouse houses and so forth but was fairly clean .I cleaned and lubed the starter and then dropped the engine into the 2082 .I had to straighten out some wiring that was melted and replace the key switch . It now runs and yard drives even took time to paint the JD rims and find some tires . Still needs lots of work, I took a few pics to prove it happened .

Odd..... parts books show they use the same parts. Can you verify? Pics? Parts book that shows this?
