That 1250 looks way too pale to me, especially the wheels. It looks to me like it has been repainted.

That helps confirm some suspicions about the paint. It's very white compared to the 128 white which I know hasn't been touched.

Default Seat

Just ordered the seat cover and since you have to order at least 15 worth of stuff to be shipped I got some dental pics too. Hopefully it willgo on smooth. Going to remove the seat and fender today. Paint the seat and I saw some "mouse like nests" up by the trunion. This will also give me a chance to clean up all the grease on the rear and lube everything up good and adjust the brakes. Still need to figure out why when I step on the brake in the foward position it won't go back to neutral. Does from reverse no problem but have to fight it going from foward

I have to say, on any hydro I have ever owned I never used the brake pedal unless it was to set the brake on a trailer or ramps. I just use the hydro lever for my stop and go work. Currently on my 1250, even after my adjustments, if I have the lever way up in the forward position, it will not come all the way back to neutral position, it is a couple inches up from that, but it doesn't bother me, because as I said, I just move the lever to make me stop and then go in reverse or forward.

I hear what your saying. But I figure while I have the pan off lets see if I can make it right. I did see the trunion has some ware but I have no creep and seems to stay at what ever speed I set it at. I guess when the fender is off I can get a better idea. As much as I would like a full nut and bolt resto I am not ready for that. This is in pretty good shape and I only have this one so some cleaning up and fix all the little mechanical things is my priority. I want to get the steering all tightened up and make sure the hydro is all working the correct way. I do plan to plow with it during snowy season so want it mechanically sound at this point. It is kinda hard for me since this is my first cub but I printed out the service manual last night so that should help.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
