Well here in the GREAT county of Durham, NC here is how the old car game is played. On normal (not antique) cars, we pay a tax based on USE value. Well somebody at the tax office noticed that a 50 year old Mustang has basically no use value, so the tax was only a couple bucks. Well then some sharp bean counter figured hey, lets tax them on blue book value. So, the tax value on my 1966 Mustang shot to $16,000 (from an already too high $4,000) value. Yours truly called the tax office to protest. I was told if I could prove the car was in bad shape or real high mileage they would reduce the bill. I asked how do we determine if its high mileage? They replied show them the odometer. Now anybody that wasn't born this morning knows that on OLD AMERICAN cars the odometer resets at 99,999.9--back to zero. Good Lord only knows how many times mine has reset. Well since that plan wouldn't work they told me to bring in the receipts from where I had the oil changed and other service work done. First off, I do my own work, second--who in the heck keeps 50 years of oil change records--third--I didn't buy the car new--its older than me! Well they decided I could not prove it was high mileage, so if it was in bad shape, I could take off work, drive it to the tax office, they would come outside and assess the vehicles condition right there on the side of a downtown street. Yeah, like the folks that thought my odometer would record 1 million miles have sense enough to evaluate the fact the chassis has been welded back together, the doors don't shut proper, every body panel on it has filler in it, etc. Well I still wouldn't back down. I finally got hold of some lady that knew I was going to be an absolute PEST. So, she told me their dirty little secret. Take the tags off and turn them in. Get a set of Antique Auto tags instead. Sign a piece of paper saying it was not a daily driver, just a "pleasure vehicle for recreational use". Now my tags cost just a little bit more, but the taxes on the car fell like a rock because by North Carolina general statue xxxxx a vehicle with antique auto tags can only be taxed on a value of $500.
In the long run, tax and tags combined are less--and the taxes won't be going up unless a re-write of the law.

God as my witness this is a TRUE STORY.

Yeah, another libtard strikes again.
I hope this "global warming" starts melting away all these "snowflakes". As my father used to say, "they can piss up a rope, and suck the wet end."

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
