Ever since my daughter saw a cub 123 dressed up like a tiger last year at the MN state fair she has wanted to restore one like it. I just picked up a decent little 123 that should work well for the project. It looks like they made a tiger and a leopard for the state fair promotional act they did back in the 60's anyone have any other pictures of the event or pics of tractors painted up like this?
Here are a couple of links I found in the archives. http://content.wisconsinhistory.org/...w/46556/rec/43 http://content.wisconsinhistory.org/...w/21733/rec/42

That's great. There's some weirdos here including myself that have wanted to paint one like that although I've not seen the cheetah one yet, thanks for sharing those. I'm thinking you need to go all the way with the whiskers and the tail as well as the hard hat with IH sticker on it. Can't wait to see one done, and I'm SURE that Maxwell will be here shortly to encourage you as well.

I think ours will be the leopard / cheetah. I have the IH safari hard hat already, maybe three or four of us need to get together and recreate the event at a RPRU.

I think someone re-created one of the tiger Cadets in a recent issue of Lawn and Garden Tractor Collector magazine (not sure if I have the magazine name completely right).

I believe the one featured in Lawn and Garden Tractor Collector Magazine belonged to Paul Funk.
Here is his website, you should be able to email him from there. http://www.cubcadetman.com/cc/ Thanks, Mike

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
