Seller counters my $50 with $105 for the hood and fenders. So, the game is on. I counter back with $80 and state that is my final offer. Just before I turn in to bed he messages me with $90 and it's yours. Call me cheap but if I wanted to pay retail I would drive the 30 miles to R.F.Houtz & Sons.
I'm going to let him stew while I wait for a reply from another seller. He is asking $50 for a 147 roller. (the electric is not part of the deal)

If the hood and fenders on the 147 are good enough for what you want, I'd cabbage onto it for fifty bucks... You should be able to get your money back out of what's left on the 147.
Try to snag that parker sweeper while you're there.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
