Default 149 Dash lever friction bushing.

I would be very grateful if someone would post a schematic with part names of the parts around the dash lever friction bushing. Thank you!!

Good morning Florida Bill, welcome to OCC, and happy new year!

One of the easiest ways to find schem..sorry, pictures in parts books, is to use PartsTree. If you are not familiar with the site, start off by;

-Search for PartsTree using Google.

-PartsTree should be the first result on the results page, select Cub Cadet parts.

-Use the Search by Model and Brand option on the PartsTree site and type in Cub cadet 149.

-Scroll down to select Transmission Controls.

-Enjoy your fish.

How'd I do guys?

I use the actual Cub Cadet Parts Lookup site. That being.... Parts Lookup

It is the most accurate (from the OEM) and gives you the correct and current Part Numbers.

X2

Also, good luck finding a new friction bushing. All I could find was NOS and with shipping were not cheap. My old one was wore, so I wrapped a little tape around it to make it a bit thicker. Worked like a champ... for now.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
