Default 982 starter solenoind
My 982 wouldn't start today, all it does is make a clicking sound from the starter solenoid. There where some sparks coming from it also. Do I just need a new one or is there something that can be done to it? Or could it be the starter itself?
The battery is fully charged.

Sounds like the wire to the starter is loose.

If all the wire connections to the solenoid are clean and tight....then I would replace the solenoid.

That's what I was going to do but I think I will first check the starter to make sure it turns over. Am I correct in this process: use jumper cables and ground the battery and place the positive lead to the starter and it should turn over? If it doesn't then the starter is the problem.

Yep, easy fix. Cleaned all connections on solenoid and it hit first time. Thanks all.
