While the gun worked flawless, I had a problem using it around the supports/braces under the gravity wagon. I knocked the dam push on cap off the cup twice, once spilling some paint on my tyvek suit/boot. ![]() Me thinks I need a new cap, but prolly my old binks siphon feed would of been a better choice on the underside. ![]() |

![]() Not my business but instead of buying a new cap why you don't convert the finish line to DeKup or a similar system and save yourself a lot of trouble? PS: the turbine system may have been a good choice for painting outside if I can build one for cheap It could be a fun project ![]()

Got to spend some time painting with a SATA 5000 over the past two days and man is it sweet, I have about 12 sata 2000 and I'm sure I could sell you a few to help finance my new gun.

LMAO I have a few question related to your equipment: 1-Do you still use those NR2000 or they just taking space and collect dust? 2-Did you rebuilds them lately? 3-You did a base coat or a clear coat with the 5000? 4-What paint gun and tip size you usually use for clear coat? 5-What paint gun and tip size you usually use for epoxy primer? PS:Tim statement can be use as a good starting base but may not be appropriated to everyone, experience and personal preferences are different from one individual from another, in simple word...Find what's working for you.

I still use the 2000's daily, we send them to sata every couple of year to be rebuilt. I run a 1.3 for everything but primer and then I use a 1.4
I sprayed base with a 5000 hvlp and clear with a 5000 rp which stands for "reduced pressure" it uses a bit more pressure than an hvlp so it really atomizes the clear and make it lay like glass.
