Your tin is back-a$$wards, looks like, should look like .....
The high piece in your picture goes under the big rear shroud, the thick muffler support goes on last, but nice job so far..... |

Going to start on the 42'' mower deck rebuild it needs a few parts to say the least. And its missing the ID tag.
The blades measure 42''. Its missing some things but I tried looking up on parts tree and couldn't find it for some reason and don't know the model number. I found some like it one here and found a manual. Here are the pictures. ![]() ![]() I'll need blades and might have to rebuild the center spindle. I'll make new grass baffles and the end cap. But will need pulley covers as well as the deck guides on the ends. I figure I can make the brackets for the back wheels as well. I could make the pulley covers but just depends on the the prices as with out having one to copy it would take WAY longer to make. Going to make a want ad but here is whats needed. This is just a deck I found from a member here whilst searching. I need the items circled in red. The orange I need to if the price is right. ![]() |

Looking good.
Try using the parts lookup directly on cubcadet.com The easiest way I've found to get attachments, is to look up the model number, on the main page, then it will have to pick the assembly, there is usually an attachments folder that will get you to the attachments available for that model. Here is a link to the one of the 3 42" decks they came with, depending on year of manufacture. From this link there should be a drop down that says "Assembly" right above the new model button. You can choose other decks there. http://www.cubcadet.com/equipment/AR...______________

Got some leads on deck parts from a member here.
Got the deck stripped. The deck itself is pretty good shape some surface rust nothing to deep. I have to make the grass baffles. Cast iron nose has a chipped place on bottom but its hard to see with the roller anyway owner was ok with it. The spindles aren't in the best shape they all spin but will need cleaned up. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
