How is it that I lived in Jacksonville (stationed there with the Air Force for a few years) and never saw that truck driving around? That thing would have caught my eye in about 2/10 of a second.

If you want some good info on the DT swap, I have a friend that's doing a 466 into a Travelette that he got from Arizona and drove all the way back to Pennsylvania. He's mentioned something about a 360 with a truck, but I don't remember where he is on all of his projects, or if that was even an IH truck. Might be one of his Fords.

IH had the first factory built crew cab in 1957 it was a 3 door model. They were build before that but by a third party, similar to other manufactures. In 1961 they had the first factory made 4dr truck. These models they called Travelette. The SUV were Travelall. Now IH also had another first the Wagonmaster. Its pictured below this beat the Chevy Avalanche buy some 30yrs!


IH was well ahead of there time. The Travelette aren't all to rare. The Wagonmaster is very rare as it was only made for a few years.

Normally these things will vapor lock with a carb. The problem is the motor is so big that it fills the engine bay and under hood temps get hot and carb would get hot and vapor lock. Mine did it bad when I got it swapp'ed to EFI and no trouble now.

I lived in Beebe when I first bought the truck, but was born in J-ville and live there now since 2015. I got the truck in 2011.

Yeah I know Jonathon J, meet him at IH NATS couple years ago, matter of fact he is at IH NATS now as it was this weekend. I am friends with him on The book of faces.

He bought 2 DT360 from a IH guy in ohio when we were there. That's how I first found out about the 360, was I went with him to pick them up. He swapped on in is F250 the other he is selling. The Travelette is going to be NICE to say the least.

That's little high. Looks like it has rust issue. The rear wheel wells are the most problems. But these are based on the travelall so they have compartments inside the rear quarters that attracts rust.

Whats sad is I bought several Scout II running and driving for $500 over the years. But now with all the TV shows everyone thinks they are Gold.
I get the whole they ain't making them anymore deal but they are not Gold. lol

Small world...

I guess that explains why I never saw the truck then. I left Arkansas roughly 2 years ago at the end of 2014.

And I worked in Afghanistan for 3 1/2 years so I wasn't home much anyway from 2011 till 2014.

I drove a 72 Travelall,only because the owner was bombed,it had a big steering wheel.
