Yeah that's a great deal right there. 6 pad looks good too. That baby will clean right up with some pressure washing. Interesting rear lights and also that it doesn't have spring assist? I thought I saw maybe a brinly spring assist on the right of that one pic but it's grainy. Anyway being a fellow member of the "I got it for free" club, congrats, very nice

Thank you for the nice comments. It's going to be fun to have.
Several weeks ago I mentioned to him his tractor and implements had a big following and was worth a fair bit. I suggested at least getting it out of the mud and on some pallets.. maybe cover it up. About two weeks later he came over and handed me the key and said he was looking forward to seeing what I can do with it. Looking it over I'm optimistic it will start up with a little carb cleaner, it had a little gas left in it that went to varnish. The oil was full and clean. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
