I bought a used power steering pump on fleabay to rebuild as a spare. The JIC 37 male fittings are slightly damaged. One in particular has some obvious cone damage. I am wondering what can be done, if anything to fix this. Can the cones be re-ground? I did find reference to Flaretite inserts. Has anyone used these? I do not know how much damage to the cone they can fix. Thanks in advance.

For what it's worth those adapters are nothing special, if they are messed up you should be able to get them at any decent hydraulic supply.

Sam,
Thanks again for the help. I think I owe you a beer or two if we ever meet. John

You mean you got a PS handpump??
I believe the fittings are o-ring boss on the pump end..... But I don't recall. I have one laying around, but not in the mood to dig it out and look. Like Sam said any decent hyd shop should have them too. I'm sure you can still get them from CCC also. Believe they are the same as the ones on the pump. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
