Default Quietline Seat Recover Options

I have a 1450 that sat outside in the weather for who knows how long. The seat is in terrible shape but is original. Do you know if there are any options for new seat covers for the original pan?

Thanks,

Bob

A QL should have came with a seat on it with some lines impressed and a mid back. I'm not sure they make a true original replacement, but a 6 pad is close. (Which is still available.) But honestly, unless you just absolutely want an "original" seat, a replacement seat is fine. Not like it affects the value of the machine any. You'll likely spend as much getting it re-upholstered as you will replacing it.

Check out this thread:

I am no help on re-upholstering the original

Send me your mailing address so that I can send you a bill for a new key board. It hurts when Scotch comes out of your nose.

I saw the thread on your 1250 restoration. I checked Coleman's right away and saw that they were out of stock. That's why I started this thread.

The original seat pan is in great shape but the cushion is cracked and beat up. I would rather recover the seat than replace it.

I have a spare keyboard in the attic I can send you way.

Unfortunately Bob, your in the minority, most people want to throw out the old one and bolt on a new one. I think MJ is on the right track, buying a new one and painting the pan or go as far as swapping the new cushion to the old pan. Either way I think your gonna have to buy a whole seat.

yeah trust me, i like to only spend 10 bucks too and i like the seat, and the originals better than the new style high back ones, but ive been looking ALL over for something similar and its not to be found....i liked the 6 pad from messicks though...price stings, but its a quality seat and looks lust like the old ones

That's too bad. I try to keep as many original parts on my tractors as I can. I guess I'm a product of restoring old machines; when they're gone they're gone. I do work my Cubs though.

I pick mine from Northern Tools, it was a direct fit for $79 (20% discount)

You can find the same almost everywhere but if I have to do it again I fit a 18" high back like the one on my Kubota.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
