I know you were asking about the Deestone, but just thought I'd throw that out there...
On a tiller tractor, traction isn't a big deal because the tiller is pushing the tractor, not like with a moldboard plow where the tractor "needs" traction to pull...
This post has changed my mind. I'm leaning toward the Carlisle tires. Made in the USA means something to me.

I want to use the box scraper with this tractor too so traction is an issue. I'm not worried about snow.

I had a set of deestones on my 782 and didn't care for them much. They do run small both diameter and width. I prefer the Carlisle

Glad to help spend your money You won't be disappointed with the Carlisle. But shop around. I got my last pair from Amazon and saved a great deal with the free shipping...

I prefer Firestone or Carlisle tires, in that, as far as I know, made here in the USA.

Check out my location. I'm in Felton, CA which is on the north end of the Monterey Bay in Northern California. It's spring here and has been for weeks.

I tilled the garden last weekend and the #2 tiller worked great! I still have the original leaking, checked and dry-rotted tires on the 1450. I haven't used a tiller behind a CC before and I was impressed. My wife was too.

She says you should have your garden in by April 1st around here. I'm originally from Illinois and haven't planted a garden in years so I believe her. I'm used to getting it in sometime in May.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
