I've made my own tap to chase exhaust elbow threads in the engine block. Simply file some notches in the threads of a purchased long nipple, and use that to clean up the existing threads. I've even gone to the trouble to heat the nipple and quench it to harden the threads, making a tap capable of cleaning up threads more easily.

I have used antisize to get tight enough to stay, but you don't want to put a cheater bar on the pipe wrench or you might split the head spiggot.
The plain 1" elbow I have dealt with on the K301's I ever had never saw a pipe wrench on them to get them so tight they stayed.
Only turned to a good snug fit, then used the conduit nut to hold it from turning out of desired position.

The pipe tap showed up yesterday and did a good job cleaning up the threads in the block.
The elbow screws in fine now.
Sure is a tight fit for the muffler, not much wiggle room between the S/G pulley, belt and brace..
I think the aftermarket muffler is not 100% correct in the fitment, as it the orientation of the inlet and the brace on the outlet are not correct.
