Can't honestly say. Didn't see anything under the tractor worn like that... Now my curiosity is spiked. I will have to look now.
You ain't the only one that has to go looking, I never noticed that on my 2072 or 982 but I'll be looking for it this spring.

Todd, if you end up pulling the brake shaft for repairs, I highly recommend getting all the paint off the shaft before attempting removal. Ask me how it I know...

OKAY, I went out and lifted the tractor up and did a visual inspection from underneath, and didn't see anything worn.
So does that conclude all is well?

Your head gaskets are starting to leak also. We had a lot of leaking on these in dads IH dealership. I see the head gasket in your pic right next to the top oil line is wet that's not an oil leak

Grill shell painted, headlights and grill installed. Put the side covers and hood on to get everything lined up and get ready to move onto the fender pan...
Painted the grill shell with Cub Cadet rattle can, it's close but not a perfect match

Looking good,
Rustoleum almond is a perfect match,The hood can be a challenge to line up.
The wires for the headlights should be routed on top of the grill housing.
Good work and keep us posted Sir..

Yeah the hood was a bugger. Ah, good to know about the wires. "I can see clearly now the rain has gone..."
I had a rattle can of (759-3259) left over from something, so went that route.
Thanks for the heads up Master of Lew
What, nothing about the IH between the lights? It's just so bare with nothing there...

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
