Went to get the 70 in the background of this pic but was distracted by Farmall Cub. I don't know what the previous owner did with it but it's got two sets of rear weights on each side. Also has a one point and rear PTO. Never really looked at a Farmall Cub close but they are pretty cool
I did not buy it but my dad has wanted one for awhile so I'll let him spend the money and I'll just drive it ![]() I did buy the 70 though.

Their pretty cool little tractors! Yes they had one point read lift. Seen plows and disks for them. Also very popular with mower decks mounted on them. They had a one armed loader you could get too. Used for vegetable farming. They have a blade for the front also, a one row planter and a cultivator too. The front wheel weights for the cub fit the rears of our cub cadets. And the transmission is the same as in the gear drive cub cadets too. I've thought about finding one to restore myself. Their not power houses. Only about 10-12hp.

They are great little tractors. Fun to use, easy to work on and they will amaze you when you stick a plow on them and that 10 hp will grunt and grown like a big tractor. Double rear weights would indicate to me it was used with a blade for snow removal. One of the things that hold a cub back is the rear tire traction. The spin out. that is a mid 50's hood, and one of the best looking cubs made with the 11 bar grill. The hitch on the back is called a fast hitch, and all were equipped with at PTO A full line of equipment. Started making them in 1947 for small farms to replace horse and mule teams. With mules you could plow an acre a day but with a cub you could plow 3 1/2 acres. They were suppose to last up to 7 years. Go figure.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
