if it were me id use a gear drive and put an under drive gear set in it to make up for the taller tires, i think you'll find the hydro will feel under powered with the taller tires.

my agway has 27 inch tall tires with a hydro, but it also has low range. perhaps double gearboxes from a jeep or small car would work

How about chain drive from the original axle flange to a split jackshaft to mount your oversize rear tires? This should move drive strain from original drive line to parts heavy enough to handle the workload -and be easily adjustable ratio if you later want to change it.
Basically like a chain drive MACK truck. I'd probably try 4 or 5 to one to start; our 12hp singles do not have as much torque as the 60ci. four cylinders in full size CUBS. A simple flange with a stub shaft to bolt on the wheel flange should get you started. wayne |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
