It requires a 1782/2182 engine adapter, cyclops pump adapter, and a 1864 GT drive shaft because the engine sits back more in the 1772 with the radiator in the front. It might need a little shimming to get it right where it needs to be, but it's usually really close. It's the best thing I did on mine, runs SO smooth now. Other than drilling and tapping the hydro input shaft it's a bolt on setup.

Thank you for the pictures, now I just have to find a drive shaft. I have a line on one in Minnesota, just waiting on the shipping quote.

Just tell 'em to cut it in half and put it in a USPS flat rate box

Well my drive shaft arrived;

Yep, you guessed it. That is the shaft sticking out of the corner of the box. I guess the seller didn't have a big enough box? No harm no foul, the shaft survived the trip just fine.

My adapter is somewhere between Jeff and I, USPS is in possession of it, waiting for them to turn it over!

I want to upgrade to the mini alternator when I do the drive shaft. So I will be ordering one of those soon.

I picked up an on board battery tender from Harbor Frieght;

http://www.harborfreight.com/15-amp-...ner-99857.html

Unfortunately, this is what has been occupying most of my time;

Those are a list of the codes the truck was throwing, when the Allison transmission decided it wanted to play "shift range inhibited". Did some tail chasing, but my fingers are crossed that I have it sorted out now.

Cub will have to wait a few days, I have to deliver my mom's van to Florida this week. Her and my Dad have been snow birds since 84, Dad passed in 2012. So now she fly's down and I drive / fly back.

The van is a full size Chevy conversion, she has been pretty rough on the fiberglass running boards (Some curbs just need to be jumped!). I debated fixing / repainting them, but it happens so often it would be an exercise in futility. So next best option was to just remove them. While I was under there, I pulled the equalizer hitch as well. That should keep the brother in law from borrowing it and Dad's utility trailer, to haul crap with. (Yes I am that guy, mom can't seem to say no, so I'll take care of it.)

So why do I tell you all of this? I'm thinking that old hitch will be re-purposed on the 3 point of the 1772? Time will tell, but I see a sawzall and mig welder in that things future.

The adapter in the pic won't work on a 1772. That is for the pumps with the 5/8" round shaft, you need the one with the 5/8" nine spline like the one in this pic.

Well I hope Jeff see's this post?

This what I pm'ed him;

"I have received my drive shaft.

Are there any measurements I need to take, prior to you machining the adapters?

I need your PayPal address, so I can send you the money.

Just as a reminder 1864 CV drive shaft, in a 1772.

Thanks again."

His response;

"No measurements from you are needed. Sam Mac was kind enough to share the drawing and they've been working fine.

Thanks, I'll go start on it right now.
Jeff"

I will admit, looking back at the pictures of Cub123's install, I was thinking I would be getting (2) pieces from Jeff. But I figured you guy's had been down this road a few times, and knew better than I, what was required?

Sam,
I need the overall length for that adapter with the spline welded in.

MWShaw
I'll order splined couplers and get one to you asap.
Sorry about the mix up.

Jeff

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
