olds45512, I guess the big question is, do you want to build a super or just have the dual brakes? IMHO it would be simpler to fit the dual brakes to the 1811, it will take some modifying, but I'm sure it could be done. Simply putting all the 1811 parts on the super frame would probably look funny without having the larger tires and super front axle.

He didn't say he wanted to build an SGT, just could he put the 1811 on the SGT frame. He would simply end up with a longer GT with a little taller fenders, which will work.


Only issue I see is that the steering shaft to the wheel would be a little short. The SGT's had a longer shaft to raise the wheel up because the tower was further away from the seat and the seat was a little higher. Just depends on how long your arms are I guess.

Well at this point the OP has not enlightened us as to what it is that he plans to build so until we know what the plan is we are just wasting our time. Need more info from the OP. Later gentlemen.

the plan if it would be to take everything off the 1811 frame and put it on the super frame, whats so different about the front axle compared to a super like a 982? i thought the axle was the same but it had taller tires.

No, the axles were different. Slightly different shape, and the SGT axle is heavier. (The spindles are different too.) But the front bolster is the same. Uses the same pivot bolt for the GT and SGT alike.


Or you could buy power steering and have that.....
