I have used the Case IH argent silver paint on tractor rims with good luck before.. I have also used the Omni line single stage with good results.. wouldn't shy away from either one

Adam, the paint for my original project I thought was reasonable, from my IH dealer. (at least I think so) I got two quarts paint, gallon of reducer and hardener for bout $100.
Seems like decent paint to me..

An update on progress.
The hood is ready for body filler finally. I welded shut several extra holes, made and welded in a new brace, and built up where the hood was nearly worn thru where it rests on the top of the grill casting.    The spindles got braces welded into the corners to prevent them from bending.

Adam, Looking really good so far
 , while your looking for cracks, check the front axle mount (if you haven't already) where it's welded to the frame.a.jpg Three of the five narrow frame tractors I've worked on has had this problem.

Started sand blasting some parts today. All of the engine tins and brackets and clutch basket pulley are ready for paint.
Oh, and I'll just leave this here.

Ahhhh, now I see. Spindles with gussets......it all makes sense now. Sweet can't wait to see the "cough" come together as well.
