I paint mine with the rear end and the front axle in place, I do whatever repairs are needed to either before paint.

I have a 105 thats in gonna use the front axle from it. The spindles and such are really messed up on my 73 so that's my game plan. I guess I'll pull the deck lever off and work on it bc it's frozen at the handle. I won't be putting a deck on it tho so idk still undecided.

Question for you guys. Will a 105 hood fit on a 73? The 105 I got has a better hood then my 73 has. I wasn't sure if they where interchangeable.

Well I've gotten some more work done on the cub. I pretty much have it all taken apart except the rear end which is next. Just wanted to share my progress with you guys so far.

Ok well I ordered the northern tool sandblasting kit that attaches to your pressure washer and I should have it by the end of the week. But got a question about paint. I priced some PPG paint at my local shop and it was $144 for white paint and $175 for yellow paint to color match the correct year for the cub. I'm seeig. What paint you guys are using out there I can't spend that kind of money on paint.

They probably priced you the high end PPG stuff.. ask for their OMNI brand..

Any of the name brand stuff (PPG, Dupont, etc) is going to be high..

I use Nason, (Dupont store brand) single stage urethane with good results. A lot of the members are using the Case IH ironguard or Valspar enamel with good results.

I prefer the Urethane for the durability.. but with proper prep and care the enamel will last a long time.

I use the case/ih paint on my tractors, it looks nice and is user friendly.

The price they quoted me was for the omni paint the high paint was around $450 a gallon. I about shit my pants on that. I will def do a video on the sandblaster to let you guys know how it works. Well I am trying to figure out what type of pain gun combo to do. I have a small pancake tank that i don't think can handle a gun so i looked into harbor freight and found this little set up. http://www.harborfreight.com/high-vo...kit-44677.html If anyone has experience with this or know what type of gun combo to use let me know I'm kinda on the fence right now and hoping to paint soon.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
