I hear ya! But like Terry said, they don't cost much sitting around. Don't scrap it, one day you'll wish you didn't!! I won't say what I'd be ready to scrap, but it not the cub!

As you take it apart you might find it needs no more than the valve seat repaired.
If you part it or scrap it, it is gone, end of story. A part or repair over time is do-able for anyone no matter the budget. A pack not smoked or a beer not bought, an extra hour of overtime and you are on the way back to operation. As others have said it costs noting setting. ol' Henry said about his Ford tractors, they are not eating when not working unlike mules/horses. ![]() |

Good luck to ya Dave! I agree with all the others on the not costing anything to let her sit. I am not sure I missed it or if it was not revealed but which toy we talkin? When my 104 engine took a crap(broken rod from abuse from PO) I would mention it to just about every one i talked to and one day I struck gold. Guy I know that works at my local hardware store said he had a 10hp in his barn and told me i was welcome to it. I got it home and it was actually k301 pith pto clutch on it. All i had to do was switch carbs. So I guess my advice is to keep your head up, ask around and maybe you will find a cheap replacement while you get the original fixed. Might work with the wife issue as well! I had one of those for about 10 yrs, I moved on from that and she is living "downtown" collecting wellfare living with her equal.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
