Thanks Guys, I should be getting some attachments to run soon and I'll try and get some video of it mowing and eventually plowing snow!

I'm going to run it without it until I can work out a new location for the fuel tank and muffler. I believe this uses a pressurized fuel system, so I don't think I can use a different tank.

I might suggest putting a plate of some sort between the mounting nuts and the bottom of the cast (aluminum?) block of the new engine. Otherwise I'd be concerned about the vibration grinding away at the block.

Other than that, it looks GREAT.

There is no vibration between the two and I tighten the bolts before I run the machine while I'm checking the oil and fuel, but I am looking into buying rubber washers to put between the motor and mounting plate.

Oh-ho, the mods might have to change the title of this thread to

"Quiet Line Cub Diesel Repower"

with those rubber mounts under the engine!!

There is nothing "Quiet" about this Diesel-Knocker!

Not sure I'd put rubber under the mounts with a belt drive, how do you keep it tensioned? Think you need to get used to shake rattle and roll.

Any updates on the build?! This is awesome and I would be very interested in trying to duplicate this. Is this a Kohler diesel?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
