Thumbs up All set for winter now

I just had my oil tanks topped off. I just purchased 889.7 gallons of heating oil at $1.979 a gallon ( for the local folks, Country Side Fuel in Womelsdorf, Pa Countryside Fuel | Heating Oil, Gasoline, Diesel Fuel, Kerosene )

Since we burn both coal and have the Franco Belge gravity feed oil burner going during the cold months, the filled tanks should last two years

1100 gallons capacity

Wow Jeff, what a tank farm! Is the oil burner air or hot water heat? Is the coal tied in? I have been thinking of putting a small coal stove in my basement next to my air handler and cutting a big hole in the return air duct to circulate the heat throughout the house. These polar vortexes are putting a hurting on my electric bill during the winter.

I have an oil fired hot air system but it really doesn't get used much at all. The oil burner in the basement is a gravity feed so we always have heat, even if we lose electric. ( similar to a kerosene burner but the flame is behind glass )

The coal burner is Harman and is rated for either wood or coal.

Both were purchased at KC Stoves in Alburtis, Pa

The oil man makes his share but I drive a hard deal too. One delivery for him to make his profit makes it easier on my wallet too.

EPA is out of control. ( I'll just let it go at that )

Way to plan ahead Jeff!!! It is a lot better when you purchase while the market is low. Last year, in my area, propane was at a premium and people were limited on how much they could purchase for heating/cooking/etc. But that won't happen to you!! Reminds me of the 3 little pigs story....plan ahead!

I was just thinking how the daylight hours are getting shorter each day after the summer solstice (June 21st).

Good to see you plan ahead. Fuel Oil use to be popular my my area, but it faded away. Come the 80's LP became popular and is now king, other than Natural Gas.
People in our area, starting in July & August, buy and pre-pay their LP when the price is low, for the entire winter, and then just have it delivered on a as needed basis.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
