Relatively new into the Cub game. Got fed up with the junk tractors they make today and got myself two 123's. One runs amazing, the other is slowly getting restored. I would like to have one for grass cutting and the other for snow removal, but that's at least a year out. Glad to be a member of this amazing site and look forward to sifting through information

Hi Coopaloop! 123s are great old tractors. This is a great resource for Cub Cadet enthusiasts. The members are knowledgeable and quite passionate about these great machines. BTW, I'm in NE Ohio too!

I live in north west PA, and also own a 123. I bought mine to plow snow but I do not think it will be ready this year. It is nice to know there are cub owners close by.

Welcome to OCC! You will love those 123s. They are solid tractors, my 105 is my favorite but my 123 is growing on me

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
