Default New to Cub Cadet 2 .......

Just got a call from the CC dealer and he has the parts, rear self centering bearing and front bearing adapter for the engine part of the shaft. He also has the proper clip now for the fan so I will pick that up also. Anxious to get it back together and running so I can give it a good shakedown ride to see what else I have to do to it. If all goes well and it operates and runs good I probably will look for a mower deck for it with all the pulleys and such next year. That large frame and workability is growing on me. Working on rebuilding the original Reflect O Lite lite on the rear now. New lens ready and the other one repaired. Funny thing is that I had dismantled and old 1970's camper for a friend a few years back and remember taking all the lights off and putting them away. They were just like the ones that were original to the CC. I asked the wife where I had put all the lights and she reminded me that I had given them to another friend who sold them at a garage sale. Darn ! Pictures after I get the parts later this week. RJ

Not much to report as of today. Dealing with some health issues for the wife and I lately. Plus having to get the yard work done and repairing a deck that needed attention really bad. Still haven't got to the dealer yet to get parts but have to go that way Monday so will have them in the afternoon. RJ

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
