Default 1641 Debris?

A few, perhaps boring questions.

Have only mowed with the 1641 a couple of times. While mowin' today, near the road, I found a piece of hard plastic/rubber perhaps, about 1/2" thick x 3" diameter (round ring). Cub still ran, didn't see any problems. Think this black thingy is part of the Cubbie?

Cub runs great mowing with the PTO engaged, engine hunts a bit when the PTO is disengaged More carb work or, carb adjustments needed?

Should the Cub's fuel cap be vented?

PTO disengages when I move into reverse. A pain in the you-know-what!
A fix or work around?

gotta pic of it?

cap should be vented.

we don't condone removing safety switches by cutting the little tab on it or bending it so it will not work.

Guessing the tab is the thingy the shifter hits when movin' to reverse (?).

Here's the debris, looked all over the Cubbie, don't recall seein' anything like it. Hope is was blown off a passin' pickup or something.

Beautiful day in NE Pennsy, how's Joisey today?

Thanks darkminion17! PTO workin' great!

Is the tab thingy the one that the shift pushes, going into reverse?

I was thinking plastic thing (photo) wasn't Cub related. Looked all around the Cub, nothing amiss.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
