Default Should I mod or leave 3pt alone

This 2082 I picked up, has the factory small top link mount. The top link like most of the machine has seen better days. I want some input from you guys. Should I cut off the top link mount and make a new one so both ends are the same size? Also would add more positions while doing it. The Ruegg on the 2072 is the larger style so top links would swap. Also, I may not keep the 2082 so not sure if I am helping or hurting value to change it. I can toss up a pic later if it helps.

First pic is the 2082 I might modify. The second is the Ruegg 3pt on my 2072. Third and fourth I have the top link for the 2072 beside it to show the difference in size. Implement end is the same size on both 3pts. It is only the machine side that is different. I should have put a pin in to show it is 1/2 inch vs 5.8 pin as well as width.

I wouldn't worry about affecting the value. It's just a garden tractor. Do whatever suits you best while you're using it.

The bigger, beefier stuff should be on the tractor with the bigger model number.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
