Thumbs up Add hydro lift to a 122

I've looked, but haven't found anything. Maybe I'm search challenged.

I see that they were apparently available with hydro lift, but how hard would it be and what would I need to add it to an existing manual lift?

Looking at a 122 in very good shape, but want hydro lift.

Thanks,

Jbo

The hydro lift was an add on for the narrow frame tractors, if you keep a look out on eBay you should be able to find one but be prepared to spend about $400 for a good unit. If you don't care about originality then you can buy components from a hydraulic supplier and make your own custom setup but you'll probably have just as much if not more money into it.

I just got done putting hydro lift on my 104. You have to change rocker arm from manual lift so that lift arm will no longer be there. I think if i didnt end up with OEM parts I would have looked around for an old fisher snow plow pump and control for 4 way plow. In fact i may still do that. Because i already have an old plow unit and considering building bucket. Could be in the near future, i would have loved to move some of the snow piles i ended up with this past winter.

That electric over hydraulic unit would be pretty rough on the battery and charging system. Too big for a GT.

Dang. Didn't realize it would cost that much. I'll keep looking for a unit that already has a hydro left.

Thanks for the quick responses.

If you aren't specifically looking for a narrow frame then search for a 149, 169, 1450 or 1650. These come with hydraulic lifts. Tho some 169's did have manual lifts but not many.

It is called a "Hydraulic Unit" and here is the installation and operation manual hosted here on Only Cub Cadets.
http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/s...ead.php?t=7429

It shows what all it consists of, how to install one and what has to be altered or changed on a narrow frame CC.

I'll keep my eye out. Don't see a ton of these around here, so may have to travel or wait a while. Not really a good waiter.

I found one for my 122 a couple months ago on a cub trading post on FB paid $200. Its a pretty simple add on. Just have to drill a few holes and cut a piece off the manual lift rocker arm. Took about 1.5 hours to do. If not there are a couple great post on here guys used a power steering pump.

Not elec/hydro, full hydro. I have a hydr pump similar to the one on my cub that mounted under hood on an old '70 F250 plow truck. Has pump and controls under hood with hoses running out to cylinders on plow. Could mount pump basicly same way you would OEM and do what you will with hoses and cylinders. I can take pic of pump and controls when i get up. Sorry if i am not being clear with discription

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
