that sounds pretty easy. I'm going to try it. Thanks

The IH Cub Cadet had 2 PTO clutch disc on them from the factory. It wouldn't surprise me that other models had 2 clutch disc on them too.

I'm not sure what did and what didn't but some had two disks from the factory, something in my head says it was some of the 149's but I don't remember for sure.

I knew had seen this somewhere when I was playing with my PTO a coupla weeks ago--page 2-78 of the 86-108-128-129-1200-1650 etc. models service manual, the section on PTO reassembly sez "The 14HP model is equipped with dual friction discs. A dual disc repair kit may be applied to the 10 or 12 HP model if additional relaibility is desired."
I guess a PO wanted additional reliablity on mine.

Wow, chapter and verse, now that is service! Very good 64fleetside.

There you go then, all this time I keep thinkin I'm loosing more and more of "it" all the time. Apparently, I have more of it left than I thought I did.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
